Un Siripinil (Gautami Rao)

Un Siripinil, is a song that caught my attention recently (altho I have heard it numerous times before), when I was watching the movie Patchai Kili Muthu Charam...A song that I could better relate to..in the context of the movie.

Wonderfully sung, easy flowing, a great job by Gautami Rao for a maiden song!

My attempt at it is here below, do let me know how well I fared!

Song: Un Siripinil

awesome! good selection and nice mood in the beginning. especially from second 10 to 12... special effect is excellent.
line endings la shruthi koncham weak.
athae maathiri pallavi second time paadum pothu there is some slight variation.
and then the first charanam seems to me that is 0.5 beats slower than the normal song. although i may not be correct.
my idea star singer score would be 76.

Wow..... Thanks for choosing this song! I am sure nobody who visits this blog or ur friends in muziboo would have heard this song as many times as I have. This is #2 in my alltime fav...

Now, ur rendition is superb. Though in ur mixing u gave less importance to the music, it gave a very different feel, bcos the voice was the essence of this song, with music only a support. (That should be the case for every song, but, for the mood of the song, what u did was perfect). Only difference I felt was in the breath control.. And, I would have preferred a full song, since the abrupt ending brought me down to earth quite rapidly. Two thumbs up!!

Raju - Welcome back after a long time! Romba thanks for such a wonderful comment. Laughed out loud on the effect the song's abrupt ending had on you :)
And I very happy to know that you have heard my song so many times..obviously the credit goes to the song itself - such a melody. So which is the # 1 all time fav?

I heard ur version only a half dozen times so far.. what I meant was the total no. of times I would have heard the song, since early 2007. These 'one-song-wonders' amuse me.. Where did this singer go?

My all-time fav song is Vennilave (Minsara kanavu).

Now, a qn. about this song: I was once told that this is a very simple and 'plain' song, probably bcos it is a soft melody. I felt otherwise.. said that this song might look simple to hear, but may not be an easy song to sing. What is ur take on that?

I agree..so many singers these days come sing one song, make it a hit and then we never hear again from them :(

It is relatively easy only if you are comfortable singing in lower registers...also if you are comfortable with expressions in the song, its not that difficult i would say...personally, this was a much easier song for me to learn and reproduce!
