Kannan Vandu Padugindran - S. Janaki

Old time favorite of mine...remember seeing this song in Doordarshan (those good old days!) during "Oliyum Oliyum", actress Radhika standing on a stage and singing this song with the mic in this movie...I used to imagine myself in her place singing that song on a stage...

Tho there is no physical stage, I got the opportunity to sing that song here today and upload it for my virutal stage audience and listeners.

Please let me know how it sounds..took me exactly 45 minutes to sing, record, mix and upload (one of my record time recordings!!)

Song: Kannan Vandhu Padugindran
Movie: Rettai Vaal Kuruvi
Original Singer: S. Janaki

Very well sung, Ajitha! Nice to hear this song after so long. How do you do it? :-) Perfect.

awesome.. excellent work after a long break. but there is something missing. is anything wrong with the background music? the tempo seems to be one notch lower. and that punch was well. i mean, some more energy and enjoyment when u record the song.

Loved it Ajitha. The flute in the BGM seems to over power your vocal a little bit though. You might wanna reduce the BGM a bit and see how it sounds. But the renditon was cool as always. A great choice of song too.

Ajitha,

beautiful ... nice listening to old songs :-)

Vidya & Veena & Vidyu ~ Thanks for your encouragement!

Narayan ~ Yes you are right! The original song BGM has much more punch and rhythm that is missing in this instrumental...so I just followed that tempo instead of adding my energy to it :)

TC ~ Yes. BGM kinda overdominates...

Ajitha:

Overall a neat rendition.

Kaatril kuzalosai - Osai is very good. But kaatril has more subtle sangathis. Please note.

Also one of the things that you may want to extend and sustain some of the ending syllables more.

Hi Ajitha,
For a 45 minute effort, the output has been incredibly magnificent! Though sometimes drowned in the over powering music, your voice still stood out and retained its charm.

Once again.....excellent one.
The recording sounded very good in my headphones.
In the first charanam there was a bit stress in breath control, but in the second charanam you cleaverly made up by splitting.
Very good feel..
Totally enjoyed the song.:)

Much enjoyed this song, Ajitha! You have a good range. I did notice that you went breathless at places but that can be avoided with constant practice.

Thanks for commenting on my songs too! Please let me have your email address so that I can send you the track you had requested.

Hi, Heard your song. Your voice was very sweet. Being a singer myself, i just found a small flaw in the line where you sung "kuzhal osai...." is a bit deviating from the rhythm. Otherwise its perfect.

Hi Ajitha, nice rendition. Lot of difference between your first song in this blog and the latest one. Which software are you using for recording?

Awatts said...

Murali ~ Yes. I totally agree to both your points..next time may be I shud take more time to practice...:)

Pranathi ~ welcome to my blog and thanks for your neat observation and comments!

Venki ~ Thanks!

Naveen ~ Good observation and yes I was lazy to redo...:)

Adithi ~ Welcome and Thanks! Hoping to record Un Paarvayil next!!

Abi ~ Thanks for your comments and observation. I liked the various posts on your blog esp on digital camera.

Rosh ~ Thanks!

Raj ~ I use Adobe Audition and yes practice makes rendition and recording better I guess
